Essential Oils

Bergamot
Country of Origin: Italy
Botanical Name: Citrus Bergamia
Helps with: Acne, appetite, anxiety, colds and flu, depression, digestive system, eczema, fatigue, nervous tension, sore throat, stress.
Cautions: Bergamot has phototoxic properties, so sunlight should be avoided after direct use.
Recipe: For acne, eczema, psoriasis, and wounds, mix 2-3 drops with jojoba carrier oil and apply directly to affected area. To help with digestion and flatulence, use 2-3 drops in sweet almond carrier oil and massage over the abdomen.

Eucalyptus Globulus
Country of Origin: China
Botanical Name: Eucalyptus Globules
Helps with: Anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal, anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, anti-rheumatic, antiseptic, deodorant, insecticidal.
Cautions: If pregnant, consult your physician. Do not use near fire, flame, heat or sparks. Dilution is recommended for both topical use. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid using on infants and very small children. Keep away from the eyes. Not for internal use. Avoid if you have high blood pressure or epilepsy.
Recipe: Mix 15 to 30 drops of eucalyptus oil with1/2 cup of Avocado oil. Apply the mixture to the chest as a rub to relieve chest and nasal congestion. Wrapping a towel around the area will add warmth and help the mixture penetrate the skin. As the eucalyptus penetrates, it loosens phlegm and mucus from the chest for less constricted breathing. Re-apply every two to three hours as needed.

Country of Origin: Mexico
Botanical Name: Citrus Racemosa
Helps with: Antiseptic, disinfecting, detoxifying, tonic, stimulant, and diuretic.
Cautions: Grapefruit Essential Oil can cause photosensitivity. Avoid use during pregnancy. Keep out of reach of children. Keep away from the eyes.
Recipe: Excellent for use as a topical application to ease pain from strained muscles, menstrual cramps, etc. Add 4 to 7 drops of Grapefruit Essential Oil to a bowl of warm water. Swish the surface of the water with a cloth, wring out, apply to area, repeat when cloth cools. You may cover the warm cloth with a sheet of plastic and a towel to keep the warmth in longer. This is an excellent method for treating painful menstrual cramps.

Botanical Name: Lavandula Officinalis
Helps with: anti-depressant, antiseptic, deodorant, sedative and relaxing - good for insomnia, pms, migraine - antiseptic properties for insect bites and minor burns, scrapes - treatment for exzema, acne, psoriasis, insecticide, sedative, stimulant, tonic.
Cautions: Avoid high doses during pregnancy because it is a uterine stimulant. Keep out of reach of children.
Recipe: To help to induce sleep and put an end to insomnia, put 3 or 4 drops of lavender oil on a tissue near your pillow.

Botanical Name: Cymbopogon flexuosus
Helps with: Analgesic, anti-microbial, antiseptic, astringent, bactericidal, deodorant, insecticidal, sedative, tonic.
Cautions: Avoid in glaucoma. Use caution in prostatic hyperplasia and with skin hypersensitivity or damaged skin. Avoid use during pregnancy. Keep out of reach of children.

Botanical Name: Citrus aurantifolia
Helps with: Anti-septic, anti-viral, astringent, bactericidal, disinfectant.
Cautions: Lime Essential Oil is considered phototoxic. Users should avoid direct sunlight after application. Avoid use during pregnancy. Keep out of reach of children.
Recipe: For acne, mix 2-3 drops of oil in 1 ounce of water. Mix well, then place on cotton ball. Gently apply to affected area. Can also be used as a toner for oily skin.

Botanical Name: Citrus sinensis
Helps with: Antidepressant, antiseptic, antispasmodic, aphrodisiac, deodorant, digestive, stimulant (nervous) and tonic (cardiac, circulatory). It has also been applied to combat colds, constipation, dull skin, the flu, and stress.
Cautions: Orange Essential Oil is considered photo-toxic and exposure to sunlight should be avoided. Do not use if pregnant. Keep out of reach of children.
Recipe: As a blended massage oil or added to a bath, it assists with colds and flu, eliminates toxins, boost the lymphatic and immune system and helps ease nervous tension and stress.

Botanical Name: Pogostemon Cablin
Helps with: antidepressant, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antitoxic, aphrodisiac, astringent, bactericidal, deodorant, digestive, fungicidal, nerving, stimulating and tonic agent.
Cautions: Keep out of reach of children.

Botanical Name: Mentha Arvensis

Botanical Name: Simmondsia chinensis
Helps with: Anti-microbial, anti-fungal great for dry to oily skin, natural moisturizer, environmental barrier for the skin, helps to prevent dandruff, high in vitamin E, B complex vitamins, helps fight cold sores, athlete’s foot, and warts.
Cautions: None known.

Sweet Almond Oil
Botanical Name: Prunus dulcis
Helps with: Softens and conditions the skin, rich in proteins, high in Vitamin D, nourishing, great for dry skin, and digestive tonic.
Cautions: None known.

Shea Butter
Helps with: Protects the skin from UV rays, rich in vitamins and fatty acids, soothes irritated skin, helps relieve wrinkles.
Recipe: Apply directly to the skin to help soothe eczema or onto the face to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Mango Butter
Helps with: Rich in antioxidants, used to soften, smooth and moisturize rough dry skin, useful for treating burns, stretch marks, scar reduction, wound healing and skin regeneration – smoothing of wrinkles, protects against UV radiation and can be used to treat sunburns.
Recipe: Apply directly to rough, dry skin. Mango butter will add moisture and help protect the skin./a>

Cocoa Butter
Helps with: Prevents drying of the skin, prevents wrinkles, reduces degeneration of skin cells, restores skin flexibility, heals and moisturizes skin that has been exposed to the elements, helps reduce the formation of stretch marks during pregnancy by keeping the skin supple.
Recipe: Apply directly to the abdomento prevent stretch marks during pregnancy.
